The International Studies Abroad program (ISA) offers a Service-Learning and Internship division, or ELAP. This program was created to propel students beyond the original confines of the classroom by providing opportunities to work at local NGOs, schools, clinics, and businesses through structured internship or service-learning that address the needs of the community and organization abroad. From May 23-July 18, 2014, I will be participating in this program and serving at The Hogar Clinica San Juan de Dios and La Academia de Música Los Ayllus del Perú.

 

The Hogar Clinica San Juan de Dios is a charitable organization dedicated to the service of people, especially those in need. With the goal of improving the quality of life, this clinic provides comprehensive treatment including medical and rehabilitation services. The clinic also provides social welfare services to its patients and runs a school at the clinic. 

 

La Academia de Música Los Ayllus del Perú offers musical instrument and singing classes to kids, youth and adults. Their goal is simply to bring music into the lives of anyone interested by offering classes in various musical instruments as well as singing lessons.
